How We Review Gadgets
Most “reviews” online are written in 20 minutes from press releases. Ours aren’t. Here’s our process:
1. Selection (We pick what to review)
- Popular products with confused buyers
- New launches that affect Indian market
- Products with overhyped claims
- Buyers’ frequent questions on forums
We do NOT: Review based on PR pitches alone, or what brands send.
2. Sourcing
We try to:
- Buy review units ourselves (most cases)
- Borrow from trusted sources for short-term tests
- Accept loaner units only with clear “we’ll publish honestly, no edits” clause
We do NOT: Accept “free” units in exchange for positive coverage.
3. Testing Methodology
Minimum 30 days of real usage for any review. Specifically:
- 📱 Phones: Daily driver use, not just benchmarks
- 💻 Laptops: Work on it for 2+ weeks
- 🎧 Audio: Multiple genres, multiple listening sessions
- 🏠 Appliances: Real-life cycles for at least 2 weeks
4. Pros AND Cons
Every review has BOTH. If we can’t find cons, we look harder. There’s no perfect product.
5. Indian Context
Reviews always include:
- Indian price (₹) at time of writing
- Warranty in India
- Service center coverage
- India-specific issues (heat, monsoon, dust)
- Comparison to alternatives at same price
6. Updates
If a product gets significantly worse (or better) after launch — software updates, build issues — we update the review with date stamps.
7. Corrections
Spotted a mistake? Email [email protected]. We’ll correct within 48 hrs and add a “Correction” note.
8. Bias Disclosure
We’re biased toward:
- Products with good after-sales service in India
- Brands with transparent pricing
- Products that work in real Indian conditions
We’re biased against:
- Brands with bad service centers
- Hidden specs (e.g. “starting from ₹X” with tiny variants)
- “Influencer” review-bait
